American Vehicle Miles Driven Have Sunk To New Post-Financial Crisis Lows

“The Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Commission has released the latest report on Traffic Volume Trends, data through June. Travel on all roads and streets changed by -0.4% (-0.9 billion vehicle miles) for June 2013 as compared with June 2012. Travel for the month is estimated to be 258.1 billion vehicle miles. Cumulative Travel for 2013 changed by -0.1%. Cumulative estimate for the year is 1,461.7 billion vehicle miles of travel . . . ”
